| Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Photos And Specifications Posted: 22 Mar 2011 10:04 AM PDT Earlier today Samsung took the wraps off their latest Galaxy Tab tablet, the Galaxy Tab 8.9, and we just received the official press photos from Samsung which shows this new ultra thin tablet. The Samsung galaxy Tab 8.9 measures just 8.6mm thick, making it thinner than the new iPad 2, and it weighs in at just 470g, and it comes with Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb and a custom Touchwiz UI from Samsung.

| Buffalo MiniStation Pocket Hard Drive And DriveStation USB 3.0 Storage Posted: 22 Mar 2011 09:44 AM PDT Buffalo have today unveiled a couple of new hard drives they have added to their line-up in the form of the Buffalo MiniStation Pocket Hard Drive and DriveStation a desktop hard drive storage solution that supports Apple Time machine. The pocket sized Buffalo MiniStation (pictured on the left) is both PC and Mac compatible and is available in either 320GB or 500GB storage capacities. It does have a 3.0 on its outer casing but the press release doesn’t say if it is indeed USB 3.0 ready. | Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1 Get Official Posted: 22 Mar 2011 08:55 AM PDT Samsung has officially announced the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and the Galaxy Tab 10.1, which was previously announced, both of these new Galaxy Tab tablets will come with Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Samsung are calling the two new Galaxy Tab tablets, the worlds thinnest mobile tablets and each one measures just 8.6mm thick, and they will both come with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface.

There have already been 400,000 downloads and its climbing fast. You can check out the Firefox 4 download total via glow. Will it beat Microsofts IE9′s 2.3 million downloads on its first day? I’m going put my money on yes. | T-Mobile Sidekick 4G Pricing Revealed Posted: 22 Mar 2011 07:47 AM PDT Last week T-Mobile announced the new Sidekick 4G, which is a new version of the Sidekick that is exclusive to T-Mobile and runs Google’s Android OS, and the company has now revealed the pricing for the Sidekick 4G. The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G will retail for $99.99, and this price includes a $50 mail in rebate and is subject to customers signing up to a new two year contract with T-Mobile.

| HTC EVO View 4G Tablet And HTC EVO 3D Smartphone Revealed Posted: 22 Mar 2011 07:24 AM PDT Two new devices from HTC have appeared on Sprint’s website, the HTC EVO 3D smartphone and the HTC EVO View 4G tablet. It looks like the HTC EVO 3D will feature a 4.3 inch qHD 3D display with a resolution of 960 x 450 pixels, there will also be 1GB of RAM and 4GB of RAM Other specifications on the HTC EVO 3D include a dual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, plus dual 5 megapixel camera’s on the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for video chat, and it will also feature a 1730mAh battery.

| iPad 2 UK Price Revealed, Starts At £399 Posted: 22 Mar 2011 06:28 AM PDT As well as confirming that the iPad 2 will go on sale in 25 countries this Friday, Apple also announced the pricing for the new iPad 2, and it will actually be cheaper than the original iPad. Prices start at £399 including VAT for the 16GB WiFi iPad 2, the 32GB WiFi iPad 2 will retail for £479, and the 64GB WiFi iPad 2 will retail for £559.

| Apple Confirms International iPad 2 Launch March 25th Posted: 22 Mar 2011 05:50 AM PDT When the iPad 2 went on sale in the US recently it sold out in the majority of Apple stores and the online store, and stocks have been limited since launch day with many customers having trouble getting their hands on the iPad 2. There have been a number of rumors that the shortage of the iPad 2 in the US would delay the international launch of the iPad 2, but it looks like this wont be the case as Apple has just confirmed that the iPad 2 will go on sale in 25 countries this Friday.

The first ever Tweet was sent by co-founder Jack Dorsey five years ago yesterday and read ”inviting coworkers”. | T-Mobile LG G2x Android Smartphone Gets Official Posted: 22 Mar 2011 05:17 AM PDT T-Mobile and LG have officially announced the new G2x, which is the T-Mobile branded version of the LG Optimus 2X, and it will be available from T-Mobile shortly. The T-Mobile G2X features a four inch capacitive touchscreen display, plus a dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, and it will come with Android 2,2 Froyo and features an eight megapixel camera on the back which is capable of capturing full HD video in 1080p, plus a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera.

Mini 6 has been specifically designed for feature phones while the slightly more advanced Opera Mobile 11 has been created for use on tablets and smartphones. The new release bring with them smoother operations when surfing together with pinch-to-zoom features and share buttons for quick linking to Twitter or Facebook. Opera Mobile 11 now has a faster Presto layout engine, the same one used in the Opera desktop browsers and improved support for HTML5, Flash on Android and Javascript. | Amazon App Store For Android Features 3,800 Apps Posted: 22 Mar 2011 04:57 AM PDT Amazon’s Android App Store launched earlier today, and it looks like the Amazon App Store has launched with around 3,800 apps, which includes both free and paid apps. According to All Things D, Amazon has been recruiting developers for their Android app store since January, and we can expect to see more applications added to the app store over the coming months.

| T-Mobile LG G-Slate Pricing Revealed Posted: 22 Mar 2011 04:35 AM PDT T-Mobile has announced the pricing on the LG G-Slate, and it looks like it is going to be quite expensive as the tablet will set you back $529.99 after a $100 mail in rebate, and this is on the basis that you sign up to a new two year data contract. The T-Mobile G-Slate features an 8.9 inch display which is capable of displaying 3D content when paired with compatible 3D glasses, and it can also display HD video.

| Posted: 22 Mar 2011 04:18 AM PDT Rovio Mobile has just released Angry Birds Rio for the iOS devices, Android and the Mac, we have just been trying out Angry Birds Rio HD to see what the latest installment in the Angry Birds saga is like. Angry Birds Rio is slightly different than the previous versions of the game, in the fact that it doesn’t feature the famous pigs, instead the Angry Birds have been captured and taken to Rio.

| BlackBerry PlayBook Now Available To Pre-Order Posted: 22 Mar 2011 04:17 AM PDT RIM’s first tablet, the BlackBerry PlayBook is now available to pre-order from a number of online stores, which include Best Buy, and the 16GB WiFi version is available for $499, and it looks like the tablet will ship sometime between the 19th and 26th of April. As a reminder the BlackBerry PlayBook features a 7 inch touchscreen display which has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, there is also a 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM.

| Dolby Unveils Its Next Generation 3D Glasses Posted: 22 Mar 2011 04:14 AM PDT Dolby’s has just released details of its next generation 3D glasses which have been designed using Dolby’s technical knowledge combined with the expertise of a leading eyewear design company and include 3M’s new multilayer optical film lenses. The new 3D glasses have been announced ahead of CinemaCon 2011 which starts next week and are at a price point that should keep theater operators happy. They may not be the most stylish 3D glasses on the market but for the price they definitely make sense over single use pairs. | Adobe Fixes Flash Zero-day Security Vulnerability Posted: 22 Mar 2011 03:55 AM PDT Adobe has now released an update to their Adobe Reader and Acrobat products fixing the the zero-day security vulnerability in its Flash Player. The update is an out-of-cycle patch for the products that now fixes the issues of the discovered by Adobe in their Flash Player. The critical vulnerability existed in Adobe’s Flash Player 10.2.152.33 and earlier versions (Adobe Flash Player 10.2.154.18 and earlier for Chrome users) for Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris operating systems. | Google Latitude For iPhone Gets Check-Ins Posted: 22 Mar 2011 03:09 AM PDT Google has updated their Google Latitude iPhone app and the latest version now includes the check in feature that we saw added to the Android version of the app back in February. The new updated version of Latitude for the iPhone will let you see where your friends are on a map and also let you share your location with your friends, and you can also choose to check in to specific places, like you favourite restaurant.

| Mac OS X 10.6.7 Released Tackles Issues On New MacBook Pro Posted: 22 Mar 2011 02:27 AM PDT After being released to developers in mid February, Apple has now rolled out its latest Mac OS X 10.6.7 update to Mac machines. The new update brings with it a number of minor issues fixes to the software, but if you have a early 2011 MacBook Pro then the update is a little more important as it includes a number of fixes for issues users have been experiencing with Apples new MacBook Pro’s. Its also improves the reliability of Back to My Mac and fixes issues when transferring files to certain SMB servers together with minor Mac App Store issues.

| Original iPad Gets A Smart Cover With A Simple Hack Posted: 22 Mar 2011 02:22 AM PDT When Apple announced the iPad 2, they also announced the new Smart Cover, which connects to the iPad 2 with magnets, and uses magnets inside the iPad 2 to keep the case on. One clever iPad fan has decided that they wanted to use the Smart Cover with their original iPad, and they have put together a video showing how this was done, although it will include attaching some magnets to the outside of your iPad.

| Amazon Launches Android App Store, Apple Sues Amazon Posted: 22 Mar 2011 02:14 AM PDT Amazon’s App Store has launched in the US, and you can now download a number of Android apps directly from Amazon, which include exclusive titles like Angry Birds Rio. It seems that Apple is less than happy about Amazon’s use of the ‘App Store’ name, and according to a report by Bloomberg Apple has filed a complaint in the federal court in California on the 18th of March in an attempt to stop Amazon from using the term ‘App Store’.

There doesn’t seem to be much room for the video game entree so to speak, aka the $1 App Store-style game. And they like it that way.
